Update: October 21st, 2024: CleanSpace Co has replied to my email and confirmed that Blue Team was brought in (however, this confirmed they were brought in without my consent). They also reminded me that they spent 48 hours and had to deal with pests, mice, etc. I did send them photos in advance, as well as scheduled a call to explain (no one came to my unit to do a walkthrough so this might be why they felt unprepared to handle my apartment).

CleanSpace is concerned about the integrity of their services, as mentioned in their email to me (which I’m including here) and has suggested that they will only be handling this privately if remove my review - which I am not going to do because it will take me thousands of dollars to rebuild. I am attaching photos of the state of my home during my deepest, darkest depression before CleanSpace Co has the opportunity to. I will not let them shame me, but I am deeply hurt that a company like this would be willing to attempt to blackmail me during an intense mental health crisis. I was already robbed of my dignity once, I will not let CleanSpace Co bully me into losing my dignity again. If they cared about my mental health as much as they say they do in their email, they would have use their email as an opportunity to address my concerns (lack of dignity when no one told me I had a toilet seat or even underwear before I went home at 10:00PM at night).

Additionally, to be clear, CleanSpace Co allowed Blue Team to be responsible for my belongings. I did not hire Blue Team, and I did not know they were in my home. Now that my items are missing, CleanSpace Co expects me to reach out to Blue Team myself, but I have no agreement with Blue Team.

I would not have booked them if I had known they would treat me less than human. I have asked for a full refund of the cleaning services as well as the return of my items (or value) as they carelessly left them in the hands of a company I did not hire without my permission.

CleanSpace Co robbed me of my belongings and my dignity.

After taking the brave and vulnerable step to get help for my hoarding, I returned to my home, which had been cleared of the clutter, but also everything else. I was left with not one article of clothing, not even a pair of underwear to wear to work the next day. My furniture had been thrown away, and I didn't even have cleaning supplies to wash the few items I had left. I am missing an iPhone, handbags, jewelry, even my TOILET SEAT. I actually went to the dumpsters and retrieved bags that were full of my clothes. One bag in particular had over $1000 worth of bras that were in perfect condition that was removed from my top drawer. Even if they had been garbage and needed to be thrown away, I wasn't even given the common decency of a heads up that I won't have underwear, or a toothbrush, or a TOILET SEAT at 10:00PM AT NIGHT when I return home.

I did contact them immediately, but I received only one text in response telling me most of my items had been ruined by mice.

The respect for my items was unbelievably cruel. I had six panel curtains that were in perfect condition, only to have one left. After inspecting, I can see that they ripped the other curtains off the hooks, leaving only tattered remains. Not only was this cruel, it damaged the hooks. If they were dirty, they could have been washed.

I was originally quoted $1000 for a 5 hour job - it's was an extreme clean so that felt fair. Only to be charged an extra $1700 for them to finish what was an apparent 24 HOURS of work. What work? The apartment is still dirty. And then, after coming to the realization I have no bedding to go sleep with, I received an email asking for an additional $300 for the extra hours it took them.

The website says nothing is thrown away without express permission - this is NOT TRUE! Please protect yourselves and DO NOT BOOK. I have requested a refund, but I have not heard back. I haven't even received an apology for having to go work without UNDERWEAR.

Do not use this company. After a friend, whose review you can see here, hired them for a "compassionate" cleaning, they not only contracted out the cleaning to a third party company, that company then discarded every item of clothing she owned, along with perfectly salvageable furniture that simply needed cleaning (what she has paid over $2k to have them do!) and thousands of dollars worth of electronics. The clothes she was able to salvage by diving in the dumpster herself were in need of no more care than a simple run through a washer at most. If their idea of cleaning is simply throwing away everything you own, they don't deserve to call themselves compassionate in any regard.

Furthermore, their website claims that "OUR TOP PRIORITY IS YOUR PRIVACY" yet on discovering that my friend gave them a negative review, they determined the best course of action is to threaten to reveal sensitive information about the cleaning services she received right here on Google. You can see below that they followed through with that threat in their response to her review. Anyone in their right mind should question the integrity of a company like this. They clearly do not care about the mental wellbeing of their clientele or they would continue to respect her privacy. Proceed with caution if your situation requires discretion, they won’t hesitate to expose you for their own gain.

This is just scratching the surface. There is so much more I could say. If you are struggling mentally and need help with your cleaning, please find another company. My friend has been left humiliated, saddened, and without basic necessities she needs to live (like a TOILET SEAT).

The people running this company should be deeply, deeply ashamed. Their refusal to take any accountability speaks volumes.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

A week ago I submitted a request online for an apartment to be cleaned in Toronto. The cleaning was supposed to be completed on February 28th. On March 1st, my tenant moved in and promptly informed me the apartment had not been cleaned and provided picture proof.

I contacted Cleanspaceco immediately and was asked to send photos. The team then insisted they had completed the cleaning. It was very clear they had not - there was dust on the floor, the fridge / stovetop was dirty, floors dusty. These were all things that would have been covered in the move in / move out clean that I was charged $224 for.

I later received a call on March 1st telling me they had accidentally cleaned someone else’s apartment. They had literally gone into someone else’s apartment while they weren’t home (door was open they said) cleaned their apartment and left. They’re extremely lucky that no one came home while they were there and called the police.

The lady on the phone was confused how this had happened - we confirmed I’d provided the right apartment number - and committed to call me back later that day. It is now 7:30pm on March 4th and I have yet to receive any further communication from this company. I have sent several emails requesting a refund. They have not offered to remedy the situation in any way, yet the charge is still on my credit card.

This treatment of customers is abhorrent and I highly recommend anyone looking to get their apartment cleaned go elsewhere.

If you respect your self worth and your belongings, it would be in your best interest to chose another company to help you. I would leave zero stars if I could. This company has left a very close family member of mine, who was already experiencing crisis and at an extremely vulnerable place in her life, at a complete standstill. They have attempted to dehumanize, and take away her dignity. They promise "compassion and privacy", yet they have continued to threaten to blackmail her (and HAVE) if she failed to remove her review of their horrifying treatment of her situation. CLEAN SPACE CO had a second party company go into her home without her consent and threw away 99% of her belongings, which in fact were NOT trashed, aside from what they may say. She literally went in the dumpster to attempt to retrieve what she could as they left her with NOTHING. Not even a pair of underwear or a TOILET SEAT!!! She has thousands of dollars of belongings missing, including expensive hand bags, electronics, you name it. This company has continued to MAKE FUN of her vulnerable situation, which I am completely MORTIFIED at since they "promise" "judgement free, compassionate, and discreet" services, yet have failed to meet any of these very important and vulnerable standards.

Please, for your own sake. Choose another company to help you. I can't believe the state my family member is left in and now has to rebuild her whole life and everything she's worked for. They have taken no accountability for their actions. Is that who you want in your home and safe space?

I hired them for my sister's move-in. I paid for the move in/out service which had a checklist. They sent one person only who couldn't communicate in English spent about an hour in one bathroom then scrambled to do the rest to leave on time. A lot of the items on the checklist were not done and there were dirty spots left around. I do not trust the rest of the positive reviews.

Terrible company! That doesn’t get the job done very disturbing how they run their business. They will scam you for money and still leave your home nasty. They will write under every negative review that it is paid by a third party company lol it’s not they dont like the truth to be out.

I had a very positive experience with CleanSpace Co. I had requested a move-in cleaning before I moved into my new place, however sadly the initial team did a poor job. Fortunately once I reported my dissatisfaction and showing images of different spots that were unclean, I received a very prompt reply offering me a compensation cleaning.

Marcia's team did that cleaning and I'm extremely impressed, the unit was scrubbed from start to finish and they even helped a bit with organizing my move in boxes and taking care of some garbage. I'm very very happy with their service, and I'm very satisfied by the customer service quality. Would 100% recommend.
