I LOVE my new floors, it has totally changed the look of the place. Darwin was patient, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Took me a while to decide what I wanted to do and he never pushed, but offered his expertise in making my decision. The installation crew, were wonderful and they did a phenomenal job. The quality of their workmanship was the best I've seen in a long while. I would recommend them to anyone. From start to finish was a breeze. My thanks to all for a job well done. I hired Darwin to sand and refinish my floors and he was sent a Zelle Deposit on 7/26/22. He was too busy to schedule me so on 7/27/22 I asked him to please return the deposit to which he agreed. Two weeks later he still has not returned the deposit and is now ignoring all communication. He is extremely unprofessional and I wished I'd read the 2.5 reviews on another platform first as those are more in line with my experience. I deeply question the authenticity of these reviews here and urge you to please do your research.

Update: After agreeing to return my deposit (in writing) Darwin has yet to do so. I contacted to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) to help Mediate situation. He didn’t respond to the BBB and he stopped communicating with the DCWP who also confirmed that his DCA license is expired and he’s not a member of the National Wood Flooring Association as falsely advertised on his website. The biggest lesson in this is to never pay a business through Zelle as there is little to no recourse in getting your money back!

This Man is very unprofessional. First off i was recommended to him by a co worker. He came to my small apartment in the Bronx and gave me a very high estimate. He came earlier than expected catching me in my house clothes, later i found out the he’s taken photos of me with his cell phone with out my permission and with out me knowing

. I left a deposit of 1K while deciding which day in January to go with and which color paint to get, thinking he was reliable because i was referred to him. He told me to call him if anything changes. An hour after he left my apartment i called him to let him know i changed my mind about a few things he estimated me on... he did not answer. I called again no answer after he already has my voluntary deposit , No answer. So i sent a text saying “hey give me a call back we may can go with Friday” he reply’s “okay give me a second” no call back afterwards. The next morning comes still no call back. So i requested my deposit back. Now automatically he calls right away asking what happened. I explained to him that his communication is very unprofessional and that i needed my deposit back. Now ironically he says deposits are non refundable. Wow. No where on the contract that we signed has this stated. Not only that he never asked for a deposit to be left. I informed him that i would put this amount of money down so that i will not spend it. He did not request a deposit but now after he already spent the money he’s making up his own new rule of deposits are non refundable.
My co worker later messages him to see what’s his reason for denying me my deposit he reply’s saying
“ I SEE GIRLS LIKE HER ALL THE TIME THEY DONT LIKE TO PAY FOR NOTHING”

“ JUST BECAUSE SHE CAME TO THE DOOR HAFE NAKED DONT MEAN IMA BE IMPRESSED”

He even asked her if she wanted to see the photos of me half naked indicating he took photos of me while he was in my apartment for an estimate.

I will just leave this here. I refused his services after this and now he refuses to return my deposit.
